I’ve been running into aspiring PUAs and non-PUA friends who come across community lingo in various media and are confused by it. So I’ve decided to make a few blog posts here and go over the basic lingo that members of the seduction and PU community typically use to communicate.

Be warned that some of the terms you might find in the above reference labeled as “PUA lingo” might be offensive to some, but do not by any means reflect the character of any and all PUAs or the Seattle Lair. With that in mind, here is the initial list…

PUA: Pick Up Artist

Pickup artist describes a man who is skilled, or who tries to be skilled at meeting, attracting, and seducing women.

AFC: Average Frustrated Chump

A typically frustrated man (or woman) who is unsuccessful at meeting and attracting members of the opposite sex and is often ignorant of the real reasons for this lack of success. He who doesn’t know, and doesn’t know that he doesn’t know.

Lair

A group, formal or informal gathering of men (and sometimes woman) in a given geographic area who get together for the specific purpose of improving their skills with women.

DHV: Demonstration of Higher Value

A story or action used to increase the perceived value of a PUA in a setting, which results in increased attraction and interest from the opposite sex. Wealth, body build, sense of humor, sense of style,  understanding how to redirect social pressure, and the ability to have fun & positive emotions are all examples of this.

DLV: Demonstration of Lower Value

When an AFC does or says something that lowers his social value, thus reducing attraction to him. Coming across as incongruent or approval seeking are examples of this.

IOI: Indicator of Interest

A hint or signal from a girl/woman that conveys attraction. AFCs might not even notice it.

This book is mandatory text book reading for any aspiring PUA (Pick-Up Artist) or new comer to the community. It does not matter if you agree with Style’s methods, approach to the game, routines, or conclusions. Reading this book will open a window to a realm of possibilities for you which most men and women only dream of.

It also gives you a list of names, and resources to start your journey with.

Throughout this real life, non-fiction story, Neil met a number of key community members who publish books, run bootcamps/seminars and provide educational materials of their own. David DeAngelo (Double Your Dating), Erik Von Markovik (Mystery Method), Tyler Durden (Real Social Dynamics), Steve P, Hypnotica, David X and Ross Jeffries are just some of the interesting characters, and teachers he met.

None of these guys are The One! None of their methods is the magic bullet that can change one’s life around over night. Though there’s something to be learned from each one of them, even Ross

Aside from all that, it’s a gripping, exciting read. Neil might or might not be the world’s “number one PUA”, but he is indeed an exceptional writer.
